While many companies see benefits to their bottom line through exports, the reality is that some may not perform well in other markets due to entering a market on a whim. Without proper research and guidance, companies stand to lose in the international market. This hands-on workshop, which is organized by the Murrieta Business and Economic Development Office and the Global Research Institute of International Trade, goes beyond merely encouraging companies to export and import to emphasize the need to develop a research-based strategy to compete internationally. Who should attend: Manufacturers, Importers, Exporters After the workshop, participants will be able to: • Study the performance of a competitor in an overseas market; • Identify U.S. buyers of specific products from various countries; • Use a simple international trade database for its own research; and • Identify the price points of competitors from pre-selected industries in two specific markets.
